WORLD SUFIS SPIRIT FESTIVAL

An amazing spiritual and musical journey in the splendor of the historical forts of Nagaur and Jodhpur

The prestigious historic sites of Ahhichatragarh Fort in Nagaur and Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur open their doors to a veritable musical journey of initiation. Lit by the sparkling incandescence of a thousand and one candles, magnificent choreographic and musical shows will illustrate the very origin of this spirituality, which symbolises Sufism in India. Great traditions from Rajasthan, or from Asia and Africa, will reveal the age-old art of those pilgrims from the past, travellers of the spirit, who brought to civilisation a sense of inspiration and sacred meaning to our life. Through dance, music, singing and rituals, traditional artists from Rajasthan, Egypt, Iran, Mongolia, China, Zanzibar, the Comoros Islands, will present the beauty of a spiritual art inspired by Sufism.

Equally lit, by the flickering incandescence of a thousand and one candles, the audience will have the chance to discover magnificent choreographed musical shows created especially for this venue, of which every stone contains the memory of a past that dates back to the 4th century, when the snake-worshiping Nagavanshi Kings built the foundation stones of the Ahhichatragarh Fort (the word ‘Ahhichatragarh’ means cobra-hood).
